Baretto is knitted in a soft, resilient wool worked to a fine rib, a fabric that lies smooth against the body and returns to shape after each wearing. The tall collar can be folded once or left standing; either way it frames the neck and settles the line of the shoulders. The cut runs straight and lightly fitted rather than close, so the sweater sits cleanly beneath a jacket and reads as finished on its own. Long sleeves close with fine ribbed cuffs that hold their place, and the same rib steadies the hem. Within the Aveloire wardrobe Baretto is a quiet foundation — a sweater that stays in rotation because it never asks to be noticed.
